Strengthening the lives of America's youth!
Welcome to the home page of the SSgt Jason D. Whitehouse Young Marines of Virginia Beach, Virginia!
The Young Marines strengthens the lives of America’s youth by teaching the importance of self-confidence, academic achievement, honoring our veterans, good citizenship, community service, and living a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building and leadership and promotes a lifestyle that is conducive to being productive members of society. The Young Marines is the officially recognized youth organization of the United States Marine Corps to the Defense Department’s Drug Demand Reduction effort.
For those interested in becoming a Young Marine, understand that you must first earn the title by attending a 10-week series of indoctrination classes known as “boot camp.” After you graduate, you will then be allowed to wear the uniform of a Young Marine and be able to identify yourself with this unit. The focus of our training is NOT to make you a Soldier or Marine, but to instill in you the habit of good citizenship. We emphasize respect, self discipline, good grades, and maturity by reflecting the Marine Corps Core Values of Honor, Courage and Commitment.
If you would like to take a step out from the crowd and be part of an organization with pride of belonging, then FALL IN! We have a spot in our boot camp formation for you!
